Oblong Books & Music

Oblong Books & Music began as Oblong Books & Records in Millerton in October, 1975. In 2010 we will celebrate 35 years of serving music and book lovers in the most beautiful region in America, northern Dutchess County. Hyperbole aside, we are a general, independent store that is open every day and is stocked with both the expected and unexpected. Oblong’s shelves feature everything from Moby Dick to Moby Grape. (If you don’t know the later, they were a great band.) 

Oblong, taking its name from an historic district in eastern New York, strives to be the best independent book and records store(s) you will find anywhere. Being situated 100 miles north of Manhattan in the gorgeous rolling hills between Millerton and Rhinebeck is a splendid bonus.
